A new Summer purse!

You know those projects that you get all ready, buy the supplies, and then store for a year for some reason or another? Yeah, this is one of those projects. I have to be honest, it's kinda like Christmas when I go digging through my extra bedroom closet. I try to stay super organized, but even the most organized of people, I suspect, have at least one spot in their house that needs a bit of help. That would be my craft closet. For the most part, I know what's in there, but every once in a while I go searching through my bags and find whole projects ready to go. A day or two ago I found a plastic bag containing a pattern, all the fabric, and the correct color thread for making a new purse.
This pattern caught my eye sometime last year, and I was DYING to make it. I have no idea why it sat so long...
Anyway, it turned into a really easy project, and it's the first sewing project that I have finished completely by myself. That is, without calling my mom every few steps to ask what a certain phrase or word in the instructions means. It is also the first project that I did completely right on the first try! NO SEAM RIPPING for this girl! A huge accomplishment for me. Needless to say, I'm kinda proud of myself.

Here it is empty, and just before I added the last touch, the button.
And here it is full of all my summer necessities...
Let me know what you think!
