Long time, no blog

Hello again! Thank you for excusing the leave of absence. I feel like there hasn't really been anything super exciting happening, so the need to blog has been small.

So here's the quick adoption update: Deborah continues to grow up before our eyes in the pictures we get! She's starting to stand more and more, and they are finally starting to feed her more appropriate foods. She was even in the highchair for the last picture we saw!(!!!) They baby our little girl, that's for darn sure! We know she is a favorite of the orphanage workers. :) It's hard watching our daughter grow up through pictures, but we know God has a perfect timeline. We are thankful that she is in such a great orphanage and getting lots of love and attention; still, it's an orphanage.
We should be getting word any day now that our dossier has been sent to Ethiopia! I'll be contacting our agency on Monday to check on our status. Then, we sit back (or on the edge of our seats) and wait for the court date. We pray the slowdowns in Ethiopia are minimal, and we can go visit our girl soon!

In other news...A while back I mentioned that I was going to get serious about getting healthy and loosing weight. I've lost seven pounds so far! Okay, I admit, most of that was because of the stomach flu I had a while back. It sure kicked my butt! However, it was a great weight loss kick off, and seven of the 12 ponds has stayed off! This has been a great month for me. I'm now off the prednisone (which causes extreme hunger and weight gain) completely, and I've been eating healthier and exercising every day! I feel great! When I loose another 8 pounds I am rewarding myself with a little shopping spree of either new shoes or a new purse. You wouldn't think it would be THAT big of a motivator, but it is. I've got my eye on some great stuff right now, so I'm excited to loose FAST (but in the right way, of course). After about 20 pounds lost...bring on the new jeans!

My boys are doing great these days. Noah especially has really made a lot of advancements over the last couple weeks. We had him in speech therapy for a little bit, but called it off as of last week. He wouldn't say a peep, and I mean not ONE PEEP while in the therapist's office. At home, it's been another story. His words (and sentences!) are coming! He still does a lot of jabbering, but it's definitely becoming less. I'm so proud of my little man!
Josiah is also growing up. It seems like every morning when he wakes up he's an inch taller. Hard to believe he's almost four! He's got a birthday list a mile long too! The kid loves parties!!! Here are a couple of my favorite Josiah quotes as of late: "Mom, you are angry, like angry birds!" "Mom, I'm too safe!" (he said this when I buckled him in the car a bit too tight) He keeps me laughing! What a sweetheart he is!

I think that's about it for now. I'm going to go relax and enjoy my Mother's Day Eve. :-)
