Adoption on our hearts

As some of you may have heard by now, George and I have decided to prayerfully consider an adoption through Antioch!

Even since we were dating we always thought adoption was something we would like to do. Little did we know it would be on our hearts sooner than later.

My doctors have not said that another pregnancy is a bad option for us (yet?), but it seems as though adoption may be a better option for us anyway. We've been so blessed to have had two healthy, full-term children! According to many of my doctors, it's supposed to be fairly difficult for someone with my specific health issues to even get pregnant. I am positive God had Josiah and Noah picked out for our family from the beginning.
I have been thinking a lot lately about whether another pregnancy is a good idea or not. On one hand, if I've done it twice already, it seems that the odds are in our favor of another healthy pregnancy. On the other hand, maybe I should stop here and count my blessings.
Although I've been wondering about pregnancy being a good option, my desire to have more children has stayed strong, if not gotten even stronger! Maybe this is God's way of pointing us towards adoption...

There are so many unknowns at this point. Like I said, we are still in the very early stages of PRAYERFULLY considering this. Of course it is not a decision we can make hastily for our family.

We have applied to get into the intro class where we will receive our adoption application, and be able to talk with the agency and get many of our questions answered. Antioch is in high demand, and therefor there is a rather lengthy wait list. We will be finding out our class date sometime in the near future, but we do know the class will be held sometime after the new year. We are thankful for this time of waiting as we can continue to pray, think, seek advice, learn more about adoption, save money, and grow even closer as a family before adding another child.

We are so excited to see where God is leading us. We may find within the next couple of months that adoption is simply not right for our family. However, the next couple months could be a time of God deepening this desire to add another child (or children) into our family, and a time of preparation for us, as well as the child God has chosen for us! (If they have even been born yet) :)

PLEASE be praying with us! We cannot do this without the prayers and support of our family and friends. Thank you!

James 1:5 But if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He is generous and enjoys giving it to all people, so he will give you wisdom.
